I finally went on a hike at nearby Wildwood Park. There is a small waterfall there that draws people as flowing water always does in Southern California. The waterfall is still flowing thanks to recent rains. In fact, the clouds on our way to the falls looked like we might get rain or even a thunderstorm, before they cleared out thanks to the wind. The wildflowers were somewhat gone, but there is still a lot of mustard and purple sage blooming.
The hike to the falls was easy, but the last part was a little steep.

Back in my own yard, the bees were feasting. Here is a closeup of a bee feasting on my borage plant. They are so gentle right now.

We had a little rain last Saturday followed by very strong winds, continuing the pattern we have had since January. Rain than wind. My yard is very green and filled with flowers — pink poppies, sweet peas, and coreopsis are all blooming right now. There will be more coming out in the next few weeks. We have the possibility of another light rain next week which will keep the magic going through May. And now, the butterflies are back. We have more monarch’s and yellow butterflies in the yard. I saw a Monarch trying to land on my eucalyptus. It would be wonderful to see a cluster in that tree.
It was quite a show in the sky the morning leading up to the new moon in Aries on April 17 with Mercury, Mars, Saturn along with the Sun and Moon and Chiron present. The energy was intense and a little disorienting. I felt it as soon as I went outside in the morning. Today feels light like a big storm passed.
