I missed the big Harvest Moon on Saturday September 26th. It was overcast with only a small glare coming through the clouds. But when I woke up the next morning a little after 6 am, the moon was still up and shining through our neighbors Norfolk Pine. We’ve had quite month of weather. Mostly hot and humid. On Sunday when I took the above picture, the skies were clear, but by late afternoon, the tropical storm clouds from maybe our 5th tropical storm off Mexico this season appeared.

They were so dramatic, like the way the eye of the storm looks, that I was surprised that we didn’t get any rain. The storm was far offshore but left us the clouds and heavy humidity. Before sunset, almost all the clouds were gone and we woke the next day to cooler air and less humidity. It was heaven; storm clouds parting and cooler air for the last days of September.
Now as we head into October, another Hurricane off the coast of Mexico bringing seven days of high heat and humidity. We are used to hot weather in the fall but it is usually dry. I don’t remember a time when we had so many storms form in the Pacific off of Mexico at this time of year. This winter should be interesting. Stay tuned.
